The Burning Tree West program is centrally located close to both the University of Arizona and Pima Community College.

Our facility consists of eight attractive casitas which can accommodate 22 students and is convenient to numerous shopping, employment, and transportation choices.

Our community environment is spacious and inviting, including an above ground pool, hot tub, and volleyball court.

We are a bike-friendly city surrounded by majestic mountain ranges which offer outstanding hiking, camping, rock climbing, and picnicking opportunities.

Our facility is located in an urban setting which provides access to a variety of experiential life skill opportunities. Residents are responsible for maintaining and sustaining their residence. Responsibilities range from establishing budgets for meals, property maintenance and vocational projects to the execution of meal planning and preparation, grocery shopping, landscaping, event planning and community service activities.

Residents attend at least one 12-step meeting daily within the city of Tucson and are therefore exposed to an expansive 12-step network during residency. Sponsors from local meetings are screened by the Burning Tree West staff and meet with residents regularly for 12 step work. After completion of the Burning Tree West program, this regular exposure to the 12-step community during residency provides a firm foundation for residents to continue their sober lifestyle. Recovery is very strong in Tucson and there are also a number of young people’s groups nearby. Participation in off-site meetings, service commitments, and round-ups is available to the resident.
