William has worked in the recovery field since 2004, starting out as a residence manager at a 90 bed facility in Tucson. He later became a behavioral health tech at Compass Healthcare's local detox facility. He consulted with the Tohono O’Odham Housing Authority providing at-risk teens constructive summer activities through video production. He also worked as a videotape engineer/ studio camera operator for KVOA in Tucson.
In November 2006, William joined the V3 Tucson team as a residential coach and later became Director of Operations for the program. He then managed the Extended Campus and Transition programs for Gatehouse Academy. William helped develop the Burning Tree West program and oversees the daily operations. He has been sober since September 19, 2003 and is an avid believer in the principles outlined in the 12 steps and in carrying the message to others.
Alexis is a native to Tucson, and has a passion for substance abuse treatment and prevention. She comes from a family of First Responders, and inherited the desire to help and be of service to others. She graduated from the University of Arizona Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health with a focus in behavioral health. After the completion of her degree she joined our team as a residential coach, which provided a solid foundation of practical experience that she now uses in admissions. She is a participant of a 12-step program, and is grateful that the principles have been introduced to her life. Alexis brings a positive attitude, compassion, and a friendly smile to Burning Tree West.
Denise, a Tucson native was educated at the University of Arizona, graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. She is also an active participant in a 12-step program.
She began working as an administrative assistant for V3 Tucson, Inc. in 2007 and continues to be an asset to Burning Tree West. She brings her life experiences as a mother and office administrator to the Burning Tree West team, providing compassion, support, and encouragement to our staff and residents
Tom moved to Tucson from Virginia in 2012 to begin a new sober lifestyle. Following the completion of the Burning Tree West program Tom is pursuing a degree from the University of Arizona. As a staff member his main goals are to give back what was so freely given to him and to help our residents grow in their understanding of sobriety and life skills.
Jerry Harmon is a Certified Alcohol and Drug Addictions Counselor (CADAC) certified by the Arizona Board for Certification of Addiction Counselors, and a Licensed Independent Substance Abuse Counselor (LISAC) licensed by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health. He is also certified by the International Certification Reciprocity Consortium (ICRC). Jerry has worked in addictions and family systems for the past 25 years in both in-patient and out-patient settings. Jerry specializes in experiential therapies, including adventure-based activities and use of low-element and portable challenge courses and indoor climbing walls. He has worked with both adults and adolescents in therapeutic environments and has provided team-building to corporate groups, including fire departments, financial institutions and city government departments. Jerry is an international workshop facilitator. He has conducted trainings in adventure-based therapy at national US conferences and for smaller groups at various treatment centers. He has worked extensively with native and aboriginal populations in the U.S. and Canada. Jerry currently provides contract services to the San Carlos Apache Nation in Arizona.
Pam, a Tucson native and previous military dependent brings to us 32+ years of corporate Administrative and Executive Assistant experience. Pam graduated from Sahauro High School in Tucson and is also a grateful and active participant in a 12-step program.
Pam brings with her great organizational skills, knowledge of corporate administration, MS Office programs, meeting planning skills, teamwork, and professionalism. Pam and her husband of 27 years have 2 daughters, 2 grandsons and will be welcoming a granddaughter, in early July. Pam's interests vary from spending quality time with her grandchildren, family and friends to home improvement projects, reading, decorating, and travel.
Connor has been a Residential Coach with Burning Tree West since July 2016 and has been clean and sober since 2008. He is also a U of A student pursuing his bachelor degree in computer/electrical engineering.
Connor believes having a sponsor, working the steps, and staying connected to a 12-step fellowship have been essential to his continuous sobriety. He brings his valuable experience of getting sober while young to our Burning Tree West residents. Connor knows how to enjoy a young sober lifestyle and brings his enthusiasm for life to the Burning Tree West community.
James joined Burning Tree West as a Residential Coach in November 2016 and had worked for us as a Tai Chi instructor for over three years. He also works for the University Medical Center teaching Tai Chi, Qi Gong and Meditation to patients with a broad range of health issues. He is a strong believer in the 12-step program and in carrying the message to others.
James is the founder of the Pai Long School of Kung-fu, holding a Grand Master rank in Tai Chi Chuan Fa and a 7th degree Black Belt in Tai Lui Gung-fu. He holds 2 National and International Championship titles in Kung-fu. James has been teaching for 40 years.
Jason has been a Residential Coach with Burning Tree West since November 2016 and has been clean and sober since June 2014. He is an active member of a 12-step program, working on various committees and sponsoring new members. Jason is a firm believer in the principles of the 12-step program and being there for the newcomer. The program has taught him how to live in integrity. He carries his experience and knowledge to our residents.
Before coming to Burning Tree West, Jason worked as a butcher for 17 years. He is the father of two amazing daughters. He enjoys camping, fishing, and coaching Little League baseball.
Born and raised in Austin, Texas, I worked for Burning Tree Lodge, in Elgin, Texas for over 5 years as an Administrative Assistant. I transferred to BTAZ at the end of 2016, because my son and his family live in Tucson and I wanted to be closer to them. I have worked as an administrative assistant in one form or another, for over 3 decades. I began studying massage therapy and intend to use this education for additional income and have been a sober member of Alcoholics Anonymous since September 15, 2008.
Michael joined Burning Tree West in November 2016 and has been clean and sober since August 2015. He is active in 12-step fellowships as a sponsor and committee member. Michael is passionate about helping others who battle with addiction and is enrolled to become a peer support specialist.
Michael is a proud father of a son and daughter. He has worked in the construction industry for 20 years and enjoys camping, hiking, and fishing.
